paper 4

i am so excited that we only have two weeks left on classes! and this is our last blag, and yes i still do not like blogging at all. but anyways, class related, i am doing my paper 4 on abortion. my stand on the issue is it is unethical. first it is murder, second i encourages immorality. and lastly, it does not teach responsibility to those who are having sex. You can not just be care free and be like if i do get pregnant, who cares, ill just have an abortion... abortion is murder.. no matter what anyone says, you are taking away a human life.

Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde

For my paper three I am going to be comparing the book to a modern day situation. most people would think of multiple personality disorder or a serial killer and how he became who he was. But instead, i am comparing it to a religious view point. Dr. Jekyll can be compared to anyone in the world, but then he drinks the potion which turns him into "hyde." The potion can be compared to sin, because once a person is consumed sin and it begins to control him. I dont know much else of what i am going to be writing in the paper, but that is what i am going to be writing tonight.

I have absolutely no idea what to write this post about. So I'll randomly choose a series on tv that I have been addicted to lately, which would be The Mentalist. I have seasons one and two on DVD and am in the middle of season two. I believe that i am a person more likely to observe things then react when i am in a new situation. I think it would be amazing if i could be as observant as he is though. Another random fact about this show is about red John, for those of you who actually watch the show. Have you noticed the Red John Smile has the same shape eyes as Patrick? I am wondering if that has anything to do with it. and the red john case might have been solved by now, but i do not have cable so i can only watch whats on the DVDs so i dont no what all has happened.

Creative project proposal # 2

hey everyone, its been a while since we had to blog. but it was nice. I loved my spring break and i hope you guys did as well. But anyways, before our break we had to write a proposal on our creative project. I have already written my creative project over spring break to get it out of the way, and I have not changed anything from my first proposal. So for the proposal to, i will be writing exactly what i have already written. I also had one question while i was writing, but i never received an email back, maybe one of you guys will know the answer. For the creative part, i did a small research paper, and i did not know if we were supposed to do that, or just write how it can be related.

topic for final paper/ creative project

For my final project I will be writing my four page paper and my speech on what it takes to become the captain of a hockey team. I will first tell how it is related to the class. I am going to compare how to become a captain to Machiavelli’s book, The Prince. From there I will be talking about what it takes to earn the title of Captain, which are skills and abilities, leadership, and also position. Then I will give examples great captains in the history of the NHL.
Then, for the creative part of the project, I will be making a goalie out of clay, because it is the only craft type thing that I am actually good at, not a big fan of painting or writing poetry. And for the 2 page paper I have to write for connecting it to my main paper, I will be writing about how the goalie of a team is the least likely player to receive the title of captain. This is because of the position because a goalie cannot cross the blue line, which does not allow him/ or her to do the full duty of a captain.

Finding a Job

Ok. so i really didnt no what to write my blog about this week, so i decided to write about finding a job. I currently have a job but i only work one day a week. so the last few months I have been searching for a job and have had no luck in it. Most applications are done online now, and 90% of them ask for my Social Security Number. I dont know about you, but i do not feel comfortable giving my SSN out over the internet. I mean how do you no the site is safe? Maybe i am just paranoid, but if I would rather give it to my employer rather then putting it onto the internet.

Stuck Like Glue

If you listen to country music, then you have most likely heard the song Stuck Like Glue by Sugarland. You and me baby we're stuck like glue. Every single time I listened to the song, i pictured a girlfriend singing to the her boyfriend. But then one day, I watched the music video on youtube. I found out it was not a cute, dating song; it is a song about a girl obsessed with a guy and she can't get over him. So, in the music video, she captures him and ties him up until his girlfriend calls, which just adds anger to her insanity.

For our first paper, we were told to take some aspect from Machiavelli's book, The Prince, and do more in depth research on that particular subject.
I choose to write my paper on what he talks about in chapter six, "Of New Principalities Acquired Through Arms and Skill." In this chapter he talks about how gaining control of a state by skill will have a better outcome by gaining control through inheritance. He gives a few examples of people who gain control through their abilities and army, and the ones that i will do research on in my paper are Moses, Cyrus, and Romulus. After using those example, I will talk about Machiavelli's view and decide if his writings were affected on his prospective on thing.

The Prince

So I have to write about one of the chapters from the book, The Prince, by Niccolo Machiavelli. So I chose to write about the first chapter of the book, "Of the Kinds of Principalities That Exist, and How They Can be Acquired." Machiavelli states that there are only two types of states, which are republican and principalities. He does not place much attention on the republic, but focuses mainly on the principalities.
He states that there are two ways to become head of the nation. The first, and the most common, is through heritage. It is passed down from one family member to the next. The other way he mentions to obtain control, is by chance or by skill.

Continuing of a Healthy Life Style

Well, as you all know, we were told to continue writing about what we posted last week. By some of the blogs I read from the English 102 class, it may be hard for some to continue writing. I, on the other hand, will just tell you how I am trying to live a healthy life.
I am actually lucky in the fact that I can not stand to sit on the couch for more then a half hour. I get more then the recommended amount of exercise almost every day. I also do some type of work out most days. Some times it is going for a run, or walking my dog, or going to the gym. But my favorite form of exercise I get would be playing ice hockey.
Besides the exercise, I also maintain a healthy eating style, and no, this does not mean I diet. If a person tries to diet to lose weight, they usually end up quitting the diet because they can not take the temptation of junk food after they have deprived themselves. What I do is I eat healthy food choices on a regular basis, but I do not completely cut of junk food. I mean really, no chocolate, impossible.

Healthy Life Style

                Over one half of the people living in America are considered to be overweight or obese.   I believe that America as a society is becoming lazy, especially with all of the new technology and fast food restaurants, leaving people desiring instant gratification. 

                There are many simple solutions to the obesity problem, but most people are not willing to do anything about it.  The main solutions would be to develop a healthier eating habit and get exercise on a daily bases.   First, a healthier diet would be as simple as eating a homemade meal instead of going through the drive through or buying a pre-cooked meal.  Not only will it help with health, it can also save a person money.

                One other way to fight weight gain is to get the recommended amount of exercise, which is thirty minutes a day on average.  This is a very simple task to accomplish.  Instead of watching an episode of television, you could take a short walk or play with your dog outside.  Also, a person could take some time to play their favorite sport instead of playing it on the x box or wii.
